Google is releasing a lightweight, open-source PC-operating system later this year, the company announced Tuesday night, a move that threatens the very heart of Microsoft, long seen as Google’s biggest rival.Chrome OS is intended to be a very lightweight, quick-starting operating system whose central focus is supporting Google’s Chrome browser. Applications will run mostly inside the browser, making the web — not the desktop — into the computer’s default operating system.

Yahoo and Facebook partnership

Yahoo and Facebook announced an expanded partnership allowing their respective users to more easily share activity updates and content with each other.

Through the social network's Facebook Connect program -- which lets members use their Facebook ID to log onto other sites -- Facebook users will be able to share different types of content, such as Flickr photos or comments on news stories, with Facebook friends.

What is the difference between News Feed and Live Feed?

News Feed aggregates the most interesting content that your friends are posting, while Live Feed shows you all the actions your friends are making in real-time.

Some of my friends' stories aren't showing in Live Feed.

You can control how many friends are shown in Live Feed by clicking "Edit Options" at the bottom of the page.
